The ceremonies began with a procession to the town monument led by disabled veterens. When we reached the monument, the girls and I stood and listened to the speeches, music and watched the laying down of flowers. We were proud to be part of this community on this day. We are also deeply aware of the strong ties between our two countries that led to American blood being shed in defense of France.
Today I am also proud of my father, and my father-in-law who faithfully served in our country’s defense. Let us not forget their sacrifice.

Our fence was used to hold the flowers until everyone was ready.

The procession begins.

A local official begins the speeches.
