We spent a wonderful weekend in Paris with my friend, Maria Elena, and her family! The weather was grey, but that didn't prevent us from exploring! We visited Versailles on Saturday and all agreed that the Hall of Mirrors was spectacular! We were lazy on Sunday and just hung out at Maria Elena's house with her precious little girl. On Monday, we headed into the city to see the sites and soak up the city. We lunched in St. Michel and then headed to Notre Dame. We walked over to Ile St. Louis for the best ice cream ever and then sloshed our way (it was raining!) to the Louvre. We didn't hit the museum this time around (we have been there a few times en famille), but instead wandered around the Carousel du Louvre which is underneath the museum where it was nice and dry! We ended up on the Grande Roue (a huge ferris wheel) at Place de la Concorde and took a spin around to see the city at night. It was a great way to end the day. We took the train back to Maria Elena's and had to head home to Eygalieres on Tuesday. Next stop Athens on Saturday! Allons-y!
