It is time once again for Kathleen's dance competition season to begin. We kicked things off on Sunday with a 16-hour day in La Ciotat, a seaside town we visited last year for the same competition, 'Cristal de la Danse.' This year, Kathleen performed both classique and modern jazz pieces and did wonderfully in the elimination round! So, she made it to the finale which is when the dancers do their numbers en costume and are judged once again. She did equally as well in the finale and we were all very proud of her. At the end of a very long day, she was awarded a third prize for classique. Honestly, we (her parents, her sister, her teacher, her teacher's mother and she herself) all thought she might receive higher praise from the judges, but she was happy to earn anything at all and had a fabulous time dancing. She is certainly a happy girl when she is dancing!
