Skiing

I must say that my girls have been very fortunate in the travel department this spring...Kathleen just got back from a week of skiing in Vars in the French Alps with her 6eme classmates! It is a trip that the 6th graders take every year, staying at a chalet set up for groups and taking ski lessons each day. It was Kathleen's first time skiing, but luckily there was a big group of first-timers and they had a great time learning the basics together. There is a system in France for skiiers where those who take lessons from certified instructors earn medals and go from level to level. Kathleen made it to the second level, flocon, and brought home the medal to prove it!

They also spent an afternoon dog sledding and she said she felt like she was on the set of "Eight Below!" Of course, she went shopping with her friends in the town and they had a great time hanging out, eating candy and staying up late chatting. There was a "boom" (what the French call a dance party) on Thursday night and Kathleen had such a great time, she lost her voice while singing and dancing! When she came home on Friday night, she was exhausted, but thrilled to share the the tales about her ski trip with us! And she is now eager to go skiing again!
