During the weekend, we also "baby-sat" Milka, the Dupres new kitten. She stayed with us which was nice company for her and great for us since it gave us something else to focus on other than our move. She reminded all of us of Fanny, with her mischievous spirit, and her rambunctiousness allowed for a well-needed laugh or two.
On Sunday, there was a fete in Eygalieres where people dressed in traditional provencal garb danced in the main street. Apparently, they were welcoming a group of people from the Haute-Savoie who also danced in the street donned in their traditional clothing. We decided to head out for a final dose of village culture and to bid farewell to some of the locals. My friend, Nicola, and her boys, Matiss and Luca (whom I had the pleasure of babysitting for during the spring) were also there for the event. Saying goodbye to them got the waterworks going of course.
We ended our exhausting weekend with pizza at Gilles across the street...and then headed home for our last night in Eygalieres for this chapter of our lives.
