On Monday morning, we were escorted to the Avignon TGV station by Philippe Dupre and Bea, Caro and Tom Tossens. We bid them adieu, hauled all of our suitcases onto the train and headed to the Charles de Gaulle TGV station/airport. There, we checked into the Sheraton hotel which was mercifully mere steps from the train tracks! (Note that our cockateil, Fred, was travelling with us which made everything a bit more complicated!) After getting Fred settled in the room, we took another TGV (first class this time around because that was all that was available) to Disneyland Paris! Our flight to the US was not until the following day and Disneyland is just 10 minutes from Charles de Gaulle so we all agreed an afternoon chez Mickey would be a fun way to say farewell to France for our family!
We were not disappointed...we risked our lives riding Space Mountain, screamed through Indiana Jones and did Thundermountain a couple of times. We relaxed in the Peter Pan ride and the popular Small World tour. After cruising through the Pirates of the Caribbean, we dined at the Blue Lagoon restaurant which is part of that attraction. It was certainly a day full of laughter and cheer and a wonderful final day in France!
