Just thought I would give you an update on how things are here since my last entry was about our trip to the hospital! My ankle is feeling better. I just have to keep the brace on for a couple more days. The girls are excited because I have to limit my walking so we are taking the metro to French (instead of trekking down the hill) and are also using the escalator instead of the stairs (a big thrill for them!). Thanks for all of the well wishes!
This afternoon we expect to have an interesting adventure, as we head out to find the rent-a-car place where we have reserved a van for our weekend trip to Eygalieres. We reserved the van online and have checked a number of times how to get there, but we haven’t done it yet. The girls and I are taking the metro to meet Bucky at the stop where he gets off for French. From there, we will take a bus to the rent-a-car place and after picking up the car, will head to Chateau Defaix to pick up four very big suitcases that we stored there when we moved into the city. We look forward to visiting with the Defaix family for a bit and will then head home to Croix-Rousse.
We will get up first thing on Saturday morning to start our drive to Eygalieres. We are going to spend the weekend with Myriam Bourg, our friend who owns the house where we will be living. She is there getting things ready for us…getting some painting done, switching the electricity bill to our names, and other chores around the house. This weekend she is going to fill us in on the ins and outs of the house, and introduce us to some of her friends. We are also just going to spend some time visiting! We are all looking forward to it. I will fill you in on the weekend upon our return on Monday. A bon week-end!
