Gospel in Plan d'Orgon

Last night, the four of us went to see The Flyers in concert at the Eglise Saint-Louis in Plan d'Orgon. The Flyers are the gospel group that (as some of you may recall) Bucky and I practiced with a few times upon arrival in Eygalieres. The group is pretty much made up of French retirees who enjoy gospel music and Bucky and I decided early on that it just wasn't for us, but we do indeed want to support them! They were giving the concert to raise money for people in the area whose homes were damaged after a recent storm caused flooding. It was a good cause and an opportunity to get out on a Friday night, so we went. There were just eight people singing and they did everything from "Georgia" to "Wade in the Water." It was enjoyable and entertaining, albeit a bit long. The girls were tired after a long week of school and since we hadn't eaten before the event (which started at 7:30pm), our tummies were growling as 9pm came and went. You could tell the performers were having a wonderful time so we stuck it out until the finale of "When the Saints Go Marching In" and marched out singing and applauding and glad we had attended!

A few of the Flyers...
