Walls in France: Simple pleasures

To get pretty much anywhere from Eygalieres, one needs to drive on the autoroute. You pay for the use of the autoroute so we have spent the last year, stopping at each toll booth, requesting a ticket and paying with change we have found in my purse or in the car; and once we got our carte bleue, we also paid with that. It was a system we learned pretty quickly and was just part of our routine when driving to Aix, Marseille, the beach or any other place outside of Eygalieres. Until recently that is....Now we have a little piece of magic that lets us go through each toll booth without even stopping! Before our trip to Lacanau Ocean, I went online to learn about the passes that allow you to use a reserved lane or lanes at the toll booths...it costs just two Euros to purchase and the website said that it would arrive within three days of placing the order. I had to include my banking information so that all of our future trips through the tolls would be automatically deducted from our bank account. It was super easy to do and I did indeed receive the pass within three days! Bucky and I couldn't wait to try it out....we had plenty of opportunity to use it during our trip to the west coast and it brought a smile to my face each time we went through the toll without stopping to get a ticket or to pay the machine....Really a simple thing that makes life easier and makes us feel oh so French!!
