Blowing things up

While Jean covered most of our wonderful visit with the Dabroskis in Belgium with great detail, she left for me to blog about an activity of David’s that is too terrifying for the casual reader. Because, although the Dabrouski’s live in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood, they are not immune to the danger that preys upon them night and day: The dreaded Mole!

This horrible creature not only terrorizes entire families, but worse, it can also destroy whole sections of a beautiful green lawn. David, not one to be faint of heart, approaches this formidable foe with the tenacity reminiscent of Rommel’s Atlantic Wall. Not with traps, cages or any other politically correct alternative – no! David attacks the problem straight on – with LAND MINES!

While not nearly as damaging as the ones used by the Nazi Field Marshall; these small but powerful devices, buried in the path of a burrowing mole, lead to certain and instant death. As the unsuspecting invader pushes dirt out of his way, he engages the trigger and POW! (The added advantage of this method is that not only do you successfully kill the mole, but bury him as well.)

I’m sure all of us sleep better at night knowing that David is on the watch!
