Walls in France: Easter

We had an easy, simple Easter this year. Dyeing Easter eggs is not a big deal in France, so those fabulous PAAS kits that we find so easily in grocery stores in the states are non-existent here. Therefore, we opted to decorate our eggs with Sharpie markers! Besides, the eggs here are brown so the dye might not have been successful anyway. The girls hunted for the eggs on Easter morning and were thrilled to find lots of chocolate and treats in their baskets! We have learned that Easter Sunday is not a big deal here in France and people talk more about Easter Monday and even Easter Tuesday - if you can believe that! So, on Sunday we had a leisurely day and on Monday there was a vide grenier in Eygalieres so we spent lots of time wandering around the village, purchasing other people's stuff that we didn't really need. It was fun though! The Tuesday after Easter, the people of the village meet at the church in town and then walk in a procession to the Chapelle St. Sixte, a 12th century chapel right outside of Eygalieres. Bucky, Tutu and I talked all week about joining the procession, but when it came down to it, we all agreed that watching them walk through town and taking a few pictures would suffice.
