The move begins

It is really happening! We are moving! The cats left today so we are bound to follow. Because it is the middle of summer and therefore hot, the cats are not allowed to fly in the baggage compartment of our airplane so they are taking an "animal only" flight instead. Bucky took Pippi and Fanny (who were definitely not happy campers) via TGV (the fast train) to the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris this morning. There, he was met by the cat shipper who took possession of our cranky felines for the day. They were supposed to board at a kennel in Paris and fly out on AirFrance at the crack of dawn tomorrow, but while en route to Paris, Bucky got a call letting him know that AirFrance cargo workers went on strike today so the cats would be re-routed. So, they will actually be flying to Amsterdam today with KLM, will be boarded there, and then fly on KLM to Atlanta in the morning. My mom (aka Tutu) is driving to Atlanta today from Charleston, spending the night with a friend, and then going to cargo to pick the kitties up and hopefully sail through customs! Keep your fingers crossed that all goes smoothly!!
