Tourists for a day

To take a break from getting organized for our move, we decided to be tourists for a day. We wanted to go some place closeby that we had never seen before so we decided on the Abbaye de Frigolet. We invited Caro along which gave us an another purpose...purchasing the abbey's famous liqueur for her parents' restaurant! It was a very hot day, but we enjoyed wandering around the grounds and imagining what it would be like to live there...we all agreed it would be very quiet!! On our way out of the parking lot, we saw a sign for the Chateau de Barbentane
and decided we should go see that as well! So we headed off to Barbentane. We were hot and thirsty so we stopped in a cute square for a quick lunch and then went to visit the chateau. It was fabulous!! They offer a guided tour only because the place is still inhabited by the Marquis' family year-round! The guide shared lots of interesting information with us about the residence, the family who has owned it for generations and the wonderful antique furnishings. We all loved the tour and felt like we had discovered an unknown gem - you never know what you will find when you are a tourist for a day!
